Our History

  • In 1980, eighteen concerned business leaders sought to address the challenges facing Broward County by sponsoring a "retreat" in Vero Beach where business, government, labor, and civic representatives could come together. Over the span of an entire weekend, they sought solutions and created new opportunities to help build a more secure future for Broward County. Out of that meeting, The Broward Workshop was formed.

Today, The Broward Workshop members are involved in their community through many other organizations. Our members help coordinate the county's business response to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

All members of the Broward Workshop are active members. All decisions which have a community-wide impact are made by the full membership. Members serve on committees and task forces.
